Afterburn
Music is felt as much as it is heard. It carries an atmosphere that shifts with the listener. Afterburn explores this sentiment by translating electronic music through temperature, asking how listening can become tangible. Using a personal temperature scale, guided by intuition and sensory mapping, ten songs are interpreted as cold, warm, or hot. Through print, elements like texture, color, and composition express how each track holds, builds, or releases energy. These interpretations begin digitally and are further curated through analog processes such as screenprinting, embossing, and hot foil stamping, allowing physical form to amplify emotional resonance.
Afterburn is a system that invites curiosity through different formats including a live performance collaboration, case study, zine, and print collection.
